About
Panhandle Area Council (PAC) is a designated Economic Development District. Members of the Council are elected officials from north Idaho cities and counties, as well as the Coeur d'Alene and Kootenai Indian Tribes. The Council serves the five northern counties of Idaho: Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai, Benewah and Shoshone. PAC is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1972 and is also recognized as:
- Economic Development District, designated by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA).
- Substate Planning Organization, recognized by the State of Idaho.
- Certified Development Corporation, certified by the Small Business Administration.
- Associate Office for International Business Resources, designated by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
- Private Sector, PAC houses a business incubator center designed to assist start-up companies.
