The Program:
The City of Coeur d'Alene has instituted an Emergency/Minor Home Repair program to help low to moderate income (LMI) homeowners correct building conditions that threaten the health and safety, or soundness of their home. The program will provide grants, up to $6,000 for emergency repair, accessibility improvements, and other minor repairs.

**Cosmetic requests will not be considered.**

Eligible Work:
  • Repair electrical, plumbing, sewer, water, or heating system
  • Repair leaking roof
  • Install ramps, grab bars/lever hardware
  • Create accessible pathways, including sidewalk repair/replacement

Process:
  • Once the homeowner has established basic eligibility, a full application must be submitted to Panhandle Area Council for the City's preliminary approval.
  • The Homeowner is responsible for obtaining bid/quotes for work to be accomplished through the program. Final approval will be based on homeowner submittal of bid/quotes.
  • Final approval must be given prior to start of any construction.

Construction:
Inspections (by the City and/or their agents) will be required before, during, and after construction.

Eligibility:
  • Owner must occupy the home
  • The home must be within Coeur d'Alene's city limits
  • Household income cannot exceed the HUD established LMI income limits

Applications are accepted as long as funds are available, and will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.
